Loans Ottawa publishes information and one referral link. It is not a lender or a broker, it keeps no office in Ottawa or anywhere in Ontario, and nothing here is advice about your finances or your legal position.
Information, not advice
These pages describe how payday and installment loans work under Ontario and federal law and where the legal limits sit; they do not weigh your situation. They cannot see your pay deposits, the rent on an apartment in Sandy Hill or the size of your February heating bill, so they cannot tell you whether to borrow, how much or from whom.
Nothing here is legal advice either. A question about a lender's conduct or your rights under the Payday Loans Act, 2008 belongs with Consumer Protection Ontario or a lawyer. A non-profit credit counsellor in Ottawa can look at the whole picture without charge, and the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada publishes plain language guidance on payday loans and their alternatives.

Where the figures come from
Every dollar figure on this site is an Ontario legal ceiling or an example worked at that ceiling, never a quote. The $14 per $100 cost cap, the $1500 maximum, the 62 day limit, the 50% of net pay rule and the two business day cancellation right come from the Payday Loans Act, 2008 and its regulations; the 35% top of installment lending comes from section 347 of the Criminal Code. A lender may charge less than a cap, and its cost of borrowing disclosure is the number you sign for.
Ottawa detail stays descriptive: we name the river, the O-Train lines, the hospitals, the highways and the neighbourhoods, never a lender, an address or a count we cannot source.

The lender decides
Approval, the amount, the cost or APR, the repayment date and every other term are the licensed lender's decision, not ours, and no lender can promise a result before it has seen your income. Nothing on this site means a lender will make you an offer. For a payday loan, check that the agreement names the lender, states the total cost in dollars, sets the repayment on your next pay date and carries the cancellation notice the Act requires. Once you sign, the lender's agreement governs, not any sentence on this site.
Rates and rules change
The law, the caps and a lender's prices can change after a page is written, and a page can lag behind. We review the pages against the statute and what Consumer Protection Ontario publishes, but we do not promise that a figure here matches a lender's latest disclosure, or that this site, the platform or any lender will be reachable when you need them. The terms of use set the liability limits, and the referral disclosure explains how the site is paid.
